EyeGuard Privacy Policy
Summary
EyeGuard is an eye-break reminder app. It has no user accounts, asks for no email address, and does not build a user profile. Multi-device sync is optional and off until you turn it on.
What stays on your device
With sync switched off, everything EyeGuard records - your break schedule, settings, rest-activity list and history - stays on the device and is never transmitted anywhere.
What multi-device sync sends
Turning on sync joins your devices into a group identified by a sync code that you generate on one device and enter on the others. While sync is on, the devices in your group exchange:
- your reminder settings (interval lengths, sound and notification preferences);
- the current timer state, so a break that starts on one device starts on all of them;
- a device identifier, platform name and display name, so you can tell your devices apart in the device list.
The server holds this only in memory for as long as a group is active. It is not written to a database and does not survive a restart of the service; devices rebuild the group when they reconnect. There is no backup or archive of sync content.
What the server logs
The sync service writes operational logs (timestamps, device identifiers, request paths, error causes) so that faults can be diagnosed, and the web server records the usual access log including the requesting IP address. The requesting IP address is also used to rate-limit abusive traffic. Logs are rotated and deleted on a short retention schedule.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play). EyeGuard never sees or stores your payment details. Purchase validation happens through the platform's own receipt mechanism.
Third parties
Sync data is not sold, rented or shared with advertisers or analytics providers. If you explicitly configure the optional activity-forwarding feature to send your rest records to another application you control, those records go to the destination you configured and its operator's terms apply.
Your choices
- Leave sync off, and nothing leaves the device.
- Turn sync off, or remove a device from the group, and its data stops being shared; server-side group state expires once devices disconnect.
- Uninstalling the app removes the locally stored data.
Children
EyeGuard is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published at this address with an updated date at the top.
